When Europeans first saw mysterious ruins in the forests far east of Ayutthaya they thought they had found an ancient Chinese or even Greek, civilization. It was not until the 19th century that the history of the Khmers who ruled an area covering much of modern Cambodia and Northeast Thailand from the 9th – 14th centuries, began to be uncovered.  The Khmers are now acknowledged to have been among the World s greatest architects.  Many sites can be visited in Thailand today.

Prasat Hin Phimai, the largest sandstone sanctuary in Thailand.  The sanctuary has been magnificently restored and renovated ruins and renovated ruins and has been preserved as a National Historical Park.

Prasat Phanom Rung, it is a walled in enclosure with both the door frames and walls carved in beautiful design of Lopburi Period style with Khmer influence.  It is thought that it was originally built as an idol temple according to Brahminic belief.

Prasat Muang Tam, The sanctuary is also walled in.  Within the compound are four ponds while the structure itself was made of old style bricks.  Door frames, wall surfaces and stone surfaces in the ponds are carved in beautiful designs.  It is believed to have been constructed in the 11th century.

Elephants Village, the villagers here earn their living by farming and weaving, they also keep elephants as pet.  The elephants here are treated like friends and have been trained well by their mahouts.

 
 Tour Schedule

Day 1: Bangkok - Khorat
Our tour guide in purple and navy blue uniform will meet and greet at the hotel lobby.  Depart hotel to Nakhon Ratchasima (Khorat) by our private van and continued drive to visit Stone Quarry, the most important Khmer monument and the largest sandstone sanctuary in Thailand.

Then, visit Ban Dan Kwian, a small village well know for its unique pottery. Prasat Hin Phimai, the largest sandstone sanctuary in Thailand.  The sanctuary has been magnificently restored and renovated ruins and renovated ruins and has been preserved as a National Historical Park.

Day 2: Khorat – Buri Ram - Surin
After breakfast, depart hotel to explore Prasat Phanom Rung, The Lonely Grandeur is one of the most rewarding of all Khmer temples to visit on a small hill.

Then visit Prasat Muang Tam, over looked by Prasat Phnom Rung and so now known as the “Lower City” has a particular charm from its tranquil setting and its ponds.  Continue drive to Surin to check in Hotel.

Day 3: Surin
After breakfast, depart hotel to Ban Ta Klang Elephant Village, the villagers here earn their living by farming and weaving, they also keep elephants as pet.  The elephants here are treated like friends and have been trained well by their mahouts.

Visit Thai Silk and Silverware Villages, Ban Khwao Sinarin which is well known for its hand woven materials colored with natural dyes and its silver ornaments.

Day 4: Surin - Bangkok
After breakfast, depart hotel to return to Bangkok and transfer to hotel.
