Northern Thailand, home of the ancient Lanna Kingdom offers a great diversity of activities.  The old Lanna capitals of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai are filled with ancient monuments and museums and market selling the distinctive local textiles and handicrafts.  Away from the main settlements, the scenery of Northern Thailand is stupendous: mountains, forests, rice fields set in verdant valleys, several spectacular national parks, in addition are home to many ethnic peoples.

Most travelers’ head for Chiang Mai, the northern capital and Chiang Rai as a base of visiting.  However, the small town has many sites of archaeological and cultural interest such as the Ancient City of Sukhothai, the first capital of Thailand some 700 years ago, Phra Phutthachinarat at Phra Si Mahathat Temple, Phitsanulok said to be the most beautiful Buddha images in Thailand and also recently are attracted all the visitors for the performance of flying vegetables and insects market, Lampang, the sole Thai town which still using colorful horse drawn carriages and it claims to have the World’s only training school for baby elephants,  Mae Hong Son, city of three mists giving this serene upland area its unique and magical appearance. 

 
 Tour Schedule

Day 1: Bangkok - Saraburi - Lopburi - Phitsanulok
Our tour guide in purple and navy blue uniform will meet and greet at the hotel lobby.  Depart hotel for smooth drive to Saraburi, 67 mile from Bangkok, visit Wat Phra Phutthabat, one of the most beautiful religious sites in Thailand and continued drive to Lop Buri, 28 mile from Saraburi to visit San Phra Kan, the former Brahman shrine and Phra Prang Sam Yot, the former Hindu shrine, the next visit at Narai Ratchaniwet Palace,  built by King Narai of Ayutthaya took 12 years to be completed (1665-1677). Most of the structures of the Palace are of King Narai’s period.  And continued drive to Phitsanulok Province.

At 20.00 hours, depart hotel to visit Night Market, see how to cook flying vegetables and insects market.

Day 2: Phitsanulok - Sukhothai
After Breakfast, depart hotel to visit Wat Phra Si Mahathat, the temple houses the most beautiful and graceful Buddha statue in Thailand, the large bronze sitting statue of Phra Phutthachinarat.  Then visit The Folklore Museum, the private museum.  And continued drive to Sukhothai Province.

Day 3: Sukhothai - Lampang
After Breakfast, depart hotel to visit The Sukhothai Historical Park, the ruins of the Royal palaces.  Visit Wat Si Chum, contains a monumental stucco over brick Buddha image called Phra Achana and visit Sri Satchanalai Historical Park, the ancient town.  And continued drive to Lampang Province.

Day 4: Lampang - Chiang Mai
After Breakfast, depart hotel to visit Wat Phra Kaeo beautiful colors and elaborate harmony make Wat Phra Kaeo Don Tao one of Thailand’s best examples of Burmese style temples and the city temples by the Horse Drawn Carriages.  The next visit Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, a paradigm of temple building of Lanna.

And continued drive to Chiang Mai, to visit Phra That Doi Suthep Temple, the temple is Chiang Mai’s most important and visible landmark.  Continued to Handicraft Villages where you can see how the local people making Silk, Wood craving, Silverware, Umbrella making etc.  After Khan Tok Dinner with lovely traditional show, at night visit the famous Night Bazaar.

Day 5: Chiang Mai - Mae Hong Son
After Breakfast, visit Chiang Dow Elephant Camp to see how the well-trained elephants work in the forest.  Enjoy Elephant Riding into the dense jungle for 1 hour round trip.  After the elephant ride, take a Bamboo Rafting along Mae Ping River for one hour.  The next visit Orchid & Butterfly Farms. Late afternoon take the smooth flight to Mae Hong Son by TG 196 (15.55-16.30) in Economy Class.

Day 6: Mae Hong Son - Chiang Mai
After Breakfast, Visit Morning Market and the city temples, Wat Phra Non with the huge image of reclining Buddha in Myanmar’s style.

Then visit Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, a major provincial landmark, an old temple, Wat Chong Kham.  Visit the Long Necked Karen’s Village Amongst the most famous of the cities attractions, the Pa Dong are a hill-tribe inhabiting an area in Myanmar territory which shares border with Thailand's Bann Nam Phieng Din. Pa Dong people are farmers of rice, tea, and tobacco. Most of them believe in spirits and Buddhism. On their necks and limbs, Pa Dong women wear a brass spiral ring of which the length will increase when they get more aged and make their neck seem elongated.  And back to Chiang Mai by TG 197 (17.05-17.40) in Economy Class.

Day 7: Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai - Bangkok
After breakfast, check out hotel to Chiang Rai, on the way visit amazing Rong Khun Temple, the unique temple by the creative power of the famous Thai Paintings, Mr. Chalermchai  Kositpipat.

Then visit  Chiang Saen, was an ancient town located on the bank of Mae Khong River and The Golden Triangle, where the Mae Khong meets the Ruak River this where the borders of three countries, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand. Then visit Private Museum Oub Kham, Ancient Lanna Kingdom’s Heritage, then visit Rai Mae Fah Luang The Art and Cultural Park. Both sites are the must see in Chiang Rai and couldn’t miss! and back to Bangkok by TG 1141 (20.05 – 21.20) in Business Class.  Arrive Bangkok and transfer to hotel.
