Chiang Mai, 700 km, by road north of Bangkok is Thailand’s second largest city and capital of the northern region.  An old city with a proud history was founded by King Mengrai who united several small tribes and called the new land Anachak Lanna Thai and was the capital of Lanna Thai for a long time.  It was attacked frequently and finally came under the control of Ayutthaya then Burma. In 1774 King Taksin of Thailand recovered it from the Burmese since then Chiang Mai has been a province of Thailand.

The most important asset Chiang Mai can claim is its people.  Their beauty, hospitality and good manners are legendary throughout Thailand.  In the past, Chiang Mai has been a city of economic, religious and political importance.  Present day culture has very deep roots.  Chiang Mai has its own dialect and its own cuisine.  These have given it a sense of cultural security. 

Elephant Camp, a close up encounter with the lifestyle of elephant handlers or mahouts.  See how they care for the animals, put them to work and train them to perform.

Phra That Doi Suthep Temple, This temple is Chiang Mai’s most important and visible landmark, and overlooks the city from its forested mountain backdrop.  It is 3,520 feet above sea level, and dates from 1383.  The temple is approached on foot by climbing a steep staircase comprising 290 steps. The less energetic may ascend by funicular railcars.  The temple’s golden pagoda contains holy Buddha’s relic, and attracts Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world throughout the year.

At 05.00 am, our tour guide in purple and navy blue uniform will meet and greet at the hotel lobby. Depart hotel for smooth flight to Chiang Mai by TG 100 (06.30 - 07.40) in Business Class. Arrive Chiang Mai and continued drive to Chiang Dow Elephant Camp, 65 km. from Chiang Mai to see how the well-trained elephants work in the forest.

Enjoy Elephant Riding into the dense jungle for 1 hour round trip. After the elephant ride, take a Bamboo Rafting along Mae Ping River for one hour.

Visit Handicraft Villages, where you can see how the local people making Silk, Wood craving, Silverware, Umbrella making etc. Transfer to airport for smooth flight to Bangkok by TG 117 (19.15 - 20.25) in Business Class. Arrive Bangkok and transfer to hotel.
