Then Ayutthaya fell to Burma and was later liberated by King Taksin. As he sailed down the river to look for a location to build the new capital, he saw the sunrise at Wat Arun. So it has been known as the Temple of Dawn Since. The most attractive structure in this temple is the 67 meters-high pagoda or Phra Prang, which is decorated with ceramic tiles and fragments of multi-colored porcelain. And the most beautiful view of it is from the east side of the river at sunset. ![]() Then, visit Jim Thompson's Thai House, The remarkable Thai style house was the work of Mr. Jim Thompson, an American who came to Thailand at the end of The Second World War and revived The Thai Silk Industry.
