Merit Making, is gained by giving food to monks who are entirely dependent on these gifts since they may not grow or prepare their own food. So it is that every morning the monks go forth from their temples with a bowl into which people put food. In return they receive a blessing. This simple act of giving is at the heart of Thai Buddhism.


Phra That Doi Suthep Temple
, This temple is Chiang Mai’s most important and visible landmark, and overlooks the city from its forested mountain backdrop.  It is 3,520 feet above sea level, and dates from 1383.  The temple is approached on foot by climbing a steep staircase comprising 290 steps. The less energetic may ascend by funicular railcars.  The temple’s golden pagoda contains holy Buddha’s relic, and attracts Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world throughout the year.



Baan Tawai Handicraft Village, at  this village the handicraft of teak wood, silk, silver, umbrella and paper making is shown the profession in their experience.

 
 Tour Schedule
At 06.00 am, your tour guide will meet and greet at the hotel for early morning special gain one of the memorable spiritual experiences as most of the Thai daily rituals do offering food to the monks. We will stop at the local market to buy some food packets for the monks, see hundreds of monks and novices walk down to the foothill with their alms bowls to receive food from people. After that, enjoy breakfast in the arboretum and watching merit making activity keep carry on. Then, drive up to 3,000 feet above sea level to visit Phra That Doi Suthep Temple, one of the most important temples in Lanna Thai. Learn how this temple situate on the high spot, beautiful architecture. After Lunch, Baan Tawai Handicraft Village, at  this village the handicraft of teak wood, silk, silver, umbrella and paper making is shown the profession in their experience.
